Water Temp Sending unit- 06 500cc

Quick Version- What should the resistance be on a cold sending unit for water temp.

The rest of the story:

I am getting the Check engine/ hot trouble code from the minute I turn the power on with a dead cold engine. It has done this before when the connector going to the water temp sending unit was not making a good connection. A mouse has chewed the wire a bit, but it is not shorting anywhere that I can see. I seperated the wires all the way to the sender to make sure I did not have a line short..

What should the resistance be on the sending unit? Can you even ohm the unit to see if it is bad?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Jay

My haynes manual doesn't show any resistant values, just shows the hot light should come on at 215.
