06 Sportsman 800 4x4 issues

I have a 06 sportsman 800 efi and i dont believe the 4x4 is working correctly. When I put it in to awd it works great and no problems but when i stop and put it back in 2wd as soon as the rear tires spin a little bit the frontend will lock in. If you put this into 2wd the front tires are not suppose to kick in at all has anyone had this problem or know what it could be. Thanks

My '04.5 had the same issue untill it locked in while in 2wd and EXPLODED the front diff. I orderd the new "updated" front diff and $700 later all my troubles went away, no problems since. I'm sure theres a cheaper way to fix it though.

Ive read about the cage in the front being broken or cracked witj the same symptoms.

Wrong fluid, dirty fluid, cracked/broken sprague cage, and warped armature plate are the main things that can cause this. Start with flushing the fluid a couple times with the proper polaris fluid then if that doesn't work take the diff apart and look at the cage and armature plate. If broken/warped then replace.
