Starting issue,

SO i turn the key all i get is click near solenoid. Battery is good, voltage to relay and starter is good so the connections are all good. Every so often it will start by turning key. Pull start very hard to pull but does work after ripping my shoulders out. Is it safe to say i need a new starter?

Also really bad rattling noise from pull start area would this be bendix idk just trying to get some input before i go blow a few hundred bucks. thnks

Clicking usually means bad starter, but of course check connections. You can jump the two large terminals on the solenoid to diagnose. Rattling issue may be bendix yes. Put 12 volts directly to starter and see what happens. Few hundred bucks? No..
I just bought a starter and bendix from dbelectrical on eBay for 65, everyone on here recommended them. Quality looked good and fixed my starting issue. But make sure it's starter before ordering.

You should take the battery to an auto parts store, for a load testing, just to be sure.If it passes ,then remove the starter and bench test with a known good battery and jumper cables. There is not much to these and sometimes all they need is a good cleaning and new brush sets, depends on how much time you want to spend on it.
I do agree, that starters, can be had about anywhere online and checking prices is a must,as well as considering the freight charges.
