04.5 sportsman 700efi manual

Hey all new here! Im working on my Father-in-laws 04.5 sportsman 700efi. replacing rear prop ujoints,1 rear cv joint, air filter and all the oils. Trans is easy especially since the rear is out for the prop shaft. Engine is self explainatory.

the rears are a little more questionable. i have the rear sitting on the bench wait on u joint for the prop shaft before it goes back in. the drain is obviously on the bottom and im guessing the fill is the one bolt on the left (sitting on the ATV) side of the case towards the rear and higher then the center line. I think its the only one that isnt symetrical to abother bolt on the other case side. Do i fill to the bottom of the hole?

what about the front? didnt get to look at it to much. any pointers? pretty much the same as the rear?

Id really like to find a service manual or at least an owners manual for it. father-in-law cant seem to find them.

Thanks for the help guys!

Yes you are right about the fill hole on the rear gear case. It is on the left side of the machine just behid where the rear axle comes out of the case. I just looked in my service manual and it says both front and rear gear cases take 5oz. of oil, or fill to the bottom of the hole. As far as finding a manual goes, I got mine off of ebay a few years ago on CD rom for the computer, can't remember what I paid for it though. Hope this helps you out.
