I've got a champion winch from costco... and since I don't use it that much it does just fine for me.... Have a big champion winch on my truck too (9500) and its been doing fine and it sees a fair bit of use. Kind of slow and loud.... but it gets the job done

I also got one from Costco $39 It's been on there for 5 years and I can tell ya it's got a lot more power than a $350 warn! And the parts are cheap; When it stops working you just throw it out and buy another one!!

Thanks guys for all the opinions, I ordered the Warn xt25 from gander mt. $252 and change shipped to my house. Thanks "mnfatboy" for the discount code. It saved me $42. I owe you one! I also ordered a KFI Mount. Hopefully install will be as easy as I have heard it is! I'll keep you posted.

buster, glad you were able to get the discount at gander. I just received my KFI mount for my 2009 Sportsman 500 EFI, looks like a quality piece. I hope to get the winch from Gander by the weekend to install.

Mnfatboy, It sounds like we are in the same boat, I have the same machine. Let me know if you run into any problems with install, I will do the same.

Gander Mountain just went back up to $479.00 on the XT30 and the XT25 is now $399.00.

I finally got the winch yesterday. It took me about 2.5 hrs to install. The directions weren't very clear. It mentioned to remove the bottom tie bolt before use. I remove a long screw type items that looked pretty thin to be anything important. Any one know what this is for?

mnfatboy, I started to install mine this week, got it all installed went to make the connections to the contactor and over-tightened one of them. It popped the threaded post off the contactor. I called Warn, and they are sending me a new contactor no questions asked. I haven't got it yet, but was pretty impressed with the customer service. It sounds like you took out the right bolt. It says it is just needed for servicing? Are you putting a plow on?

I email warn on the bolt just to be sure and they were quick to respond. I just cut out the bumper today; looks great with the cover. The goal is to put a plow on eventually but I haven't found the right deal on one yet.
