I don't find my belt slipping at all so far it seems good. My problem I'm having in finding tires is the size. The rear tires are 26x10x14 so the tie rod is pretty close so I don't dare go any wider. Any suggestions? Anyone herd of carlisetirestore. Com found some good deals there but not sure. But I'm mostly off the beaten trail in the woods in the moss mud ect.. No groomed trails here want something good that will last oh and the front tires are 26x8x14 happy riding

What year is your 550? If it is a 2010 or newer you can put 11" wide rear tires on it with no problem. If it is a 2009 anything wider than 10" will rub the sway bar. 9" wide fronts will fit fine on all XP model years.

I have read on this forum where some people have bent the sway bar to get more clearance, and some have just replaced it with a 2010 or newer bar. I have removed the sway bar completely from my 850. Not because of clearance issues, but because I like how it rides and performs without it. I did a write up about that in the atv brakes & suspension section of this forum. You should read that if you are considering removing the bar.

I'm not a fan of Carlisle tires of any sort. Not even for my trailers. I wouldn't buy anything but a minimum of a 6 ply radial tire. Your choices are very limited in the OEM sizes for an XP.

Any suggestions on tires then I don't do trail riding well groomed ones I mostly am in the woods up here in Maine. There are some mud holes mossy areas something good for snow to I'm new to all this I just bought it a month ago and I'd say the tires were original so I have to put air in the back tires every time I want to use it

I don't know what people in that area like, but I'm a huge fan of the Maxxis Bighorn tire. It is a great all around tire that does everything very well. It is not a mud tire, so if mud bogging is your thing you don't want these. They do just fine in the occasional regular trail mud. Also a very good snow tire. Check around and see what people in your part of the country use as a guideline or reference. They would know better than I what works in your area, but you can't go wrong with Bighorns for an all terrain tire.
