Unhappy No 4wd in reverse

Hello! New to this site and could really use some help!

I have a 2008 Sportsman 500 HO EFI. While riding this weekend in N. Georgia, it started acting funny. I needed to use 4wd in reverse to turn around on a steep incline and no 4wd.... The yellow button was pushed in, the display indicated 4wd, slow, slow, slow.. etc... but no 4wd in reverse. I tried it several other times throughout the day with no luck. Any help would be appreciated? Thank you!

Mike

Hey Mike, I just went through a similar problem on my 2009 500 EFI X2. Check to see if can you access the diagnostic mode or the service features on your pod? If not ,it sounds identical to my problem. I was able to trace the wiring back to the pod but couldn't go any farther. I took to my dealer and he found two wires broken in the harness. Quick solder job and back in business. I still plan on contacting Polaris and bitching...I beat the crap out of my last Polaris and never had this kind of problem..My 09 isn't even broken in yet.....We'll I hope this will give you someplace to start..Good luck...Andy

Don't take me too seriously, as I read it somewhere long time ago and may have it distorted in my memory, but it said no 4WD in reverse until you hit override button.
Again, it was long time ago...
