Sportsman 800 touring Big Bore Kit
From what i understand the sportsman 800 engine is the same as the RZR engine right? Does anyone know if the Holz racing or Muzzys big bore kits for the RZR will work on the 800 sportsman?

Same engine, all parts transfer over. The rzr s cam is the same as the sportsman HO cam. If you go big bore, I'd go with ported head and bigger cam and 11 to 1 compression for sure...

thanks for the info, do you have engine work done to any of yours? or do you know anyone with a big bore kit/cam/high compression pistons? trying to see if its worth it, im sure the power difference is worth it but as far as dollar amount and reliability trying to get some opinions or thoughts from people that have gone that route.

Normally if I'm going to spend big dollars on an engine build or something, I don't like to take short cuts. I've rebuilt my 800 recently blue printed it, mostly stock stuff in it but I've got a strong back ground in building my own drag engines for my mustang race car. Alot of the theorys carry through from one to another. If you go bigger displacement, you need more airflow to make the difference which will come from the ported head. If you dont go with a bigger cam, you will lose rpm of your motor because it will be trying to choke itself at a higher rpm. The cam will hold the valves open longer which will in turn make more power and torque.

Just wanted to add another part, HPD performance has a big bore kit and what I believe to be the best piston design so far with the best quench. Thats the on I'd go with..
