The lights on my 99 Sportsman 500 go from bright to dim all the time and I don't know why, Anybody got any ideas?

My lights dim when the fan kicks in. Check battery voltage and see what happens to it when the lights dim.

You have a voltage drop somewhere in the system. Perhaps a corroded headlight switch. You need to use a multimeter and start probing connections to see where the problem is.

Temporarily added a fused power wire with a toggle until I get the problem fixed.

Thought the problem was fixed but when I rode my bike this morning to work the hids turned on and off about 3 times and then stayed on like they were supposed to, anybody got any ideas why these lights do this?
I figured that when I ran the new switched power wire from my battery the flickering would quit but it didn't and I don't know why, this happened the last 2 days now and I'm wondering if my HID kits are defective.

Going to try adding a temporary ground wire from the battery to see if it fixes the lighting problem and if it does I'll know I've got a bad ground.
