Headlights dimming

The lights on my 99 Sportsman 500 go from bright to dim all the time and I don't know why, Anybody got any ideas?

check the ground wire. sounds like it got a bad connection

Checked the ground wires and they are good.

My lights dim when the fan kicks in. Check battery voltage and see what happens to it when the lights dim.

2009 800 Touring Warn winch, Garmin Oregon 300, Elka Elite rears, Moose hand and thumb warmer, sport windshield, Glacier 2 plow system, Sears Poulan Pro 18" chainsaw, meep meep horn, looking for some nice mirrors. HID kit ripped off by ATV Superstore

You have a voltage drop somewhere in the system. Perhaps a corroded headlight switch. You need to use a multimeter and start probing connections to see where the problem is.

Temporarily added a fused power wire with a toggle until I get the problem fixed.

Thought the problem was fixed but when I rode my bike this morning to work the hids turned on and off about 3 times and then stayed on like they were supposed to, anybody got any ideas why these lights do this?
I figured that when I ran the new switched power wire from my battery the flickering would quit but it didn't and I don't know why, this happened the last 2 days now and I'm wondering if my HID kits are defective.

Going to try adding a temporary ground wire from the battery to see if it fixes the lighting problem and if it does I'll know I've got a bad ground.
