It shouldnt be pressurized after riding. Since you are taking fuel out of the tank it would be creating a vacuum in the tank if it was plugged. If that's the case the vent is defiantly plugged.

uhhh with 4 gallons of gas sittin on top of a 400 degree stove being shaken like a paint mixer I'd be suprised if it didn't boil and build pressure. There's a vent tube running up into the pod that will bubble off the pressure. You can hear it and see it when ya stop if you look up next to the steering stem and you'll get some overflow too if you top up too full when it's already hot. Just crack the lid when you stop to let the pressure off and it'll be fine.

Had the machine apart this weekend ,all the plastic off, replaced a couple of wheel bearings. I found that the vent tube for the gas tank was kinked so it was not venting straightened it all out hope this does it. Thanks all the responses.

Yes found that the vent tube to the head light pod was kinked straightened that out and wrapped the tank with heat reflecting foil tape. no more problems hope this helps.
