Sounds like the Retaining bolt bushing on the front cover...or maybe the covers bushing turning inside the cover...Did you pull off the complete assembly off or just replace the weights and spring on the Quad on your primary? Also check your weights make sure their tight...they could be flopping around. And check the back of the primary against the back of the cover...Muddie49

Thanks for taking time to respond. I took off the whole assembly then just changed out the spring and weights and remounted
the bolt bushing is there you think it may need to be replaced ? Sorry what do you mean by the covers bushing ?
Another person had said the clutch may be out of alignment a hair and that is causing it. your thoughts?

I will test it again but wouldnt it not be any of the primary clutch items if I take the belt off and the noise stops? I will take the belt off later today and try it again

OK I'm leaning toward it being a clutch alignment issue now also. If itake the belt off theres no issue at all so it cant be an issue with the primary
. Belt looks like its in the middle but I think I may have to add another shim there are 2 now. If I put alittle presurre on the belt outward the noise goes away.
Could it just need a new belt ? Or should I add another shim
Can I just use an Regualr washer ? Or do I need the polaris ones not sure if theres a difference
Thanks again in advance for helping

Theres a teflon bushing inside the cover...i thought maybe it was woreout and maybe spinning...well the secondary should not spin unless the primary is engaged...it should sit there...sounds to me like something in your primary(Front clutch) is wrong...should not be engaging at that RPM,did you leave any washers or spacers out of either clutch? How did your secondary clutch spring sit in? did it have small holes on the helix and down in the housing so you could properly set in the spring ? and what EPI clutch did you install in the bike..? and what color springs did you install in the clutches...?Muddie49

I edited my post above the secondary does not spin. That was my fault. It does what it shows in the video. Can you take a look at my post just above yours and see what you think. I am running the EPI big tire kit clutch WE435025
I have the WHite spring in the primary. I havent tried the red
thanks again

OK...good...did you put all the shims and spacers back in? I just put a clutch in my 500HO 2 days ago and had no issues...at all cut&dry...aslong as you put all the spacers and shims back in the way they came out you should'nt have any issues.
The squeeking could be a bad bushing, belt or something wrong in the primary.Muddie49

I did put the 2 shims back in, I'm not sure about spacers dont think there was any. I only did one thing at a time so I'm as sure as I can be everything is excatly how it came out. I will try a new belt and see if it goes away then
yea the install of the kit was smooth and easy. Just this darn noise fee lother people told me they had to realign their clutch after an epi kit

I tried putting the red spring in the primary that didnt make a differance and I also changed a belt and that didnt either. I will see if adding a shim to the secondary gets rid of it. Just have to get my hands on a shim
