Front/ rear driveshaft removal

I'm in the early stages of replacing my u joints on my 2003 sportsman 700. I have a few questions I cant seem to find the answers too.

I have the front drive shaft off, but cant remove it from the machine. It's hitting the bottom of the motor. Do I need to unbolt the motor so I can lift it up a little so the shaft clears?

The rear shaft is loose. I can slide it back and forth. Do I have to unbolt the rear diff in order to pull it out or is there a trick?

My machine has a build date of 06/06/02. According to the Polaris web site, the front and rear u joints are different. Can anyone confirm this. I was hoping to go to NAPA and get 4 of the same u joints #338

I've heard their a pain in the butt..and from what i'm told you may have to un bolt just enough to clear the shaft ..also check your shaft in the rear for any roll pins...then it should just slide out...Muddie49
