New Member Says Hello - quick question

Hello All!

New Member of the site today. Found a lot of good info and people here, so I decided to join. Also first time owner of an ATV so very excited.

Bought a 2008 Polaris sportsman touring with 135 miles on it recently, and am very happy with it for the most part.

Side Note and quick disussion:

My wife and I and a bunch of friends ( can-ams/arctic cats/rzrs) go on some pretty muddy rides (called mud run) with a few deep water holes and we blew our main 20 amp fuse a few times when we went splashing through 1 foot deep puddles.

SOoo I stripped down the plastic and put di-electric grease on EVERY connection I could find. I found that the location of the fuse box is not a very good one on this model, as mud/water debris can shoot right up the wheel well into this fuse box area. When we hit water, steam/mud water get right on the fuse box!? Shouldn't Polaris hide this better or put a waterproof box in? Anyone else have this issue? I made a rubber guard to protect it and seems to work right now. Gonna hit mud run to put it to the test again.

comments and suggestions welcome!

Zack

Thanks Bruce! Nice Ride - How do you like so far? We noticed ours is a gas pig! But that should be expected with an 800. . .

Also we just ordered same cargo bag you have- like that too? Also, Do you have to take off passenger handles to use it?
