Question starter bendix

is there any differnec in the bendix from 2000-2001 for the sportsman 500 HO

do u know if you are suppose to put any oil or any thing in the recoil and fly wheel cover

thanks for the info but i have anther ? im i supose to put any oil in my pull start and fly wheel cover it looks like there is a drain on the bottom and a spot to add on the top?

no, the drain is there go get fluid out if it gets in. you want it to stay dry in there. there is a seal on the otherside that sometimes oil or oil/gas gets in there, again, you dont want that.

So blue, if the rope won't recoil, is it safe to assume it's fairly gummed up in there? Previous owner did quite a bit of riding on sand around the Platte river, so I'm guessing that's the issue. Any way you can "blast" it out without pulling the whole thing apart?
