soory jblack for not saying welcome first. i didnt pay attention that you were new because we were in the sportsman section and not the new members section....we really are a nice bunch of guys and gals here, so please accept my apology and let me officially welcome you to board.

i didnt mean to sound rude, i just call them how i see them. be careful with that motor. i wouldnt say you are out of the woods yet. if the motor's compression couldnt overcome a stuck ring but a little bit of oil did, you still have some gremlins living in that motor that will rear the ugly head. just dont go out riding by yourself.

LOL....I was just ribbin' a little jblack. I just couldn't get over the 45 mph thru the mud hole and the (probably not so innocent) muddie bystanders. If they're anything like my crew they instigated the whole thing. Welcome to the board!
Now about that motor, squirting a little oil in the cylinder is standard procedure when ya ain't got enough rings to make sufficient compression. If you ingested a little muddie water during the big splash it may have stuck 'em or could have done more. Try checking compression after it's warmed up good without any oil and then squirt a little oil in and check it. I'll bet a dollar to a donut you'll see the diff. You might want to consider new rings now to save a big headache later if you plan to keep it long.
Good Luck!...and don't let the "innocent bystanders" heckle you into hitting that mud hole any faster than 40 mph in the future.
