they should be wide enough to wrap almost completely around the bar. we have always positioned the so the wires are towards the back/bottom of the bar as you are sitting on the machine. with the grips back on, it should give the whole grip a nice warm feeling all the way around

It's funny you asked this. I just installed my kit yesterday.

I installed mine with the wires at the back and the gap facing right at me. This allowed me to fully conceal the wires coking from the pads with the existing wires on the quad. The gap is very small and it's not impactful on the amount of heat you get.

Just make sure you install that switch on on of the top knockouts of your light pod. I had to spice in an extra 4" of wire so that the left handwarmer could be routed properly. No big deal but why didn't Polaris make the dang wires long enough!!!!!

I also hid my wires so they would face the front of the quad and be hidden. I placed my switches next to the odometer L & R side. Very easy install since you already have the power under the pod.

I took mine off completely and installed Oxford Heated grips, also installed a set on sports bike. They are great, just need a thumb warmer now!

A little compressed air and the grips slide right off!

A little soapy water is all you need to get them back on.

You'll need an air compressor. Canned air just wont cut it. It wont take much, just a couple quick pumps and she'll pop right off. Aim at a friend, and hilarity will ensue! (Just kidding of course, no need to hurt someone!)
