2010 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO running "HOT"

HI guy's

I'm a newby to this forum and a new Polaris owner.
I just bought a bran new 2010 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO carburated and its "running HOT" only 2KM and is clean no mud in radiator. The radiator fan is not turning "ON". I have check the main fuse and its goog. Jump the radiator fan temperature sensor and the fan is still not turning (meaning that the temp sensor is good), I have check for fan motor connection and it also looks good. Does anybody have any idea on what to check next? I do not want to bring ATV back to dealer sinse the my dealer that I purchase from is about 2 1/2hr away. Please help.

thanks
Eric

Well...it sounds like the fans no good...would'nt be the first time...heck i had an axle break the first time,i took it out.....sounds like the fan is no good...only thing i would do is bring the quad up to temp and check the fan connection and if its getting power from the sensor then the fans no good....did you check and see if the fan is turning by hand...sometimes they will get jammed up while shipping....maybe the dealer you bought it from did'nt do the checkup on it before you bought it???

Thanks for the reply.

I have check the fan with a external 12V source and its turning fine. If I jump/sort the temp sensor I should get 12v at the fan motor connection, but I'm getting nothing...is their a breaker somewhere??
thanks again
Eric

Look up Spal fans on the internet and you will save from buying the Polaris part (made by SPAL).

Is there voltage at the sensor? Chase the ground wires too. Sorry I don't have a wiring schematic

Had another idea. Is it possible there is a air bubble in the water pump? I've heard that if this happens the fan motor will not turn on.

The advice here is free, but ain't always right. Tryin to help you buddy.
