Clutch engagement ?

On the Trail Boss ('05), is it normal for the clutch to engage after probably 500 rpm increase from idle? Ours does not engage right away and I'm trying to figure out if I need to pull a shim out or get a different spring (like an EPI red).

being that the idle is over 500r's it should engage way over that. i have an Epi red and its perfect for this 250/Aaenexh/34mm carb.

Is there a clutch cable adjustment? Sounds like maybe after 5 years, your clutch has worn down past the free play limit. Is there a way to adjust the clutch cable to give the cable some slack?

Do you know if the red spring is the same for all Polaris models? I have been researching and it seems that it is not model specific. The quad has so few hours that the belt may be dried out too. I need to pull the cover if it gets warm again and I have the time.

will fit the 250's 330's 500's 400's gen3's. polaris usually put a blue/green spring in(which i have a tool box drawer full of) about everyone stock.changing your secondary clutch position will give you alittle more R's.
