how to rewind recoil spring on trailblazer 250

Im replacing my recoil spring on my 02 250 trailblazer having a problem getting the plastic pulley that the rope raps around off, I see it is threaded on, is it threaded normal or back wards. What is the best way to remove it. I just looking to replace the busted spring.

Once you figure out can you go into detail on how you did it because the spring on mine is broken as well and would just like some guidance before i tear into it

Fixed i,t was really easy you have to take the cast cover off the motor then remove the metal cover were the rope retracts into. You need to lock the back side of the pulley were the dog rides into the vice, then take a soft punch and hit the pulley counter clock wise to remove it from the treads, then disassemble it. This point you should be able to remove the old spring, when replacing the old with a new spring make sure you cut the safety wire the new spring is held together by after it is in place. reverse the disassemble procedure and wind the the pulley and let the rope retract.

have the trailblazer also having trouble pulling the flywheel, bent the puller tring to take it off .the starter is bad want to replace it. should I use heat? please help.
