Question 1988 trail boss 250 2wd

hey guys sorry in advance if i post in the wrong spot so iv been doing a over haul on a trail boss and am trying to replace a crank shaft seal i got 1 finished but the one behind the starting gear i cant get to iv tried everything to try to pull the Big starting gear off but it wont budge any help/tips would be great

the fly wheel which the starting gear is mounted to...behind the recoil housing ? if so there are 3 holes fairly small take like a 1/4" bolt and a "steeringwheel" puller to remove that they can be tight but it is removable sorry if im misunderstanding

yea your right its the starting gear behind the pull start housing and if the steering wheel thing is a tool i dont have it but if i thread 1/4 bolts threw each hole tightening them each a little till it pops it off

if i thread 3 bolts threw the 3 holes its going to push against the magneto ? the gizmo with the copper wire wrapped around it and this is going to require some force so i see it causing damage to it
