Angry 2000 trailblazer 250 lack of power

hi there pretty new to all this but will tell you my problem and hope someone can help

i just got a trailblazer 2000 year 250 it was'nt running when i got it stripped down the carb about 5 times now made sure it was all clean float level ok etc rebuilt then fitted set idle and mixture to base settings 1-1/2 turns fitted new plug and started fine it does'nt rev that smooth but not that bad just a wee bit spluttery it engages forward and reverse fine and when you drive it full throttle it just does not seem to pull that fast 20pmh maybe i checked the drive belt and clutch looks perfect it was low on gearbox oil so topped that right up last night i adjusted the float in carb a little more and adjusted the needdle so it came up more seems to go a little better its getting plenty of fuel (filter changed) the throttle is opening wide open shutter in carb all the way up any suggestions would be great thanks in advance i'm from scotland so time diffrences for replying might be off cheers

Welcome,
I would look again at the clutch.

Pull the cover and confirm they are making a full transition to the top and bottom of the clutches.

lack of power

thanks for your reply not really sure what i'm looking at all seem's very clean in there belt looks really good a bit slack but i think its suppose to be like that when i push the clutch in it move's about 10 mm i think and the lobes are all sitting on the rollers and free hope this help's thanks

sorry also when it only goes about 20mph it does not rev right up but the throttle is wide open not like (reving up and not driving like clutch slipping ) cant see any air leaks at all cheers

AHH YES I NO WHAT YOU MEAN NOW yes the belt when you drive it goes all the to the top of the clutch pulley and all the way to the bottom of the gearbox pulley all ok

Ok what about a fuel and air filter? Are they new (er)?

the fuel is new i have ran this quad this way for a couple of hours so the fuel is all the way through the system the air filter is very clean and i have blown it out with a air line

Make sure you have the right spark plug for the 250. Check the exhaust from the cylinder head to the very end of the pipe it's possible that there is mud packed in there or that some insects built a nest out of mud

Thanks for your reply it has a suzuki back pipe that i have removed and still goes the same the spark plug is a new ngk the right one since i have posted last time i have had the quad in bits again and rebuilt the quad is running perfect apart from not being fast 30mph max but will start and run sweet good power up steep hills and tick over just right i love this quad but just want it right anyone else have any input would be great i will try anything thanks

Check the weights and the pipe

I had a 2 stroker dirt bike that the pipe plugged up on. Also my TB 1999 the weights in clutch seized up.
