'01 Trail Blazer misfiring, dying ???

I have been trying to fix my neighbors trail blazer for over a week now, it was sitting for 3 years, and I have fixed all the problems it has, I cleaned the carburetor out completely, new fuel, new oil, cleaned out the oil tank and delivery line/filter and the fuel lines and filter, new plug, and new air filter, I had it going perfectly, then I noticed it was getting hot pretty fast, and after about 15 minutes of riding around, it stalled on idle, and it was like half seized up, very hard to pull over, and very hot, I let it sit for an hour to cool down, and it does the same thing again after riding for 15 minutes. I thought it was the fuel mix, so I turned the screw 1 turn out and went from there to see where it should be, cleaning the plug off with a wire brush between attempts, but now I can't get it to go anywhere, it just misfires, bogs, and dies when I try to get it moving, no matter where I turn the screw to. what is the proper amount of turns out for the screw? or could it be another issue? I am completely guessing here. I am about to chuck this quad in a lake and get back on a 4 stroke, so any help would be appreciated.

cheers

Is the oil injection pump working? It may be overheating due to lack of oil. Check here for more info. Service manuals

And I took the top end off the engine and the cylinder is scored all around..... Looks like this is going to be a money job. Thanks for the help guys.

My 2000 T-blazer does the exact same thing. Runs beautiful for 15 minutes, and then when it warms, it gets hot about 4-5 minutes later and can't hold idle. Then it doesn't want to start until it cools. When it cools completely, same thing, runs perfect for 15 minutes, then same crap all over again. New plug, oil, cleaned carb, air filter, new fuel, etc. My mechanic told me the choke was stuck open half way and thought that might be the problem. He fixed that and same problem.
