Polaris 350L - 1993 electrical issue

Hello - I'm new to the forum but not new to Polaris. I have a 1993 - 350l and had since new. I'm running into a starting problem only with the automatic starting. When I pull start it , it starts in 1 pull. What happened ... last night I was riding it and I shut if off to do some work and when I got back on, the automatic starter did not work. It was like there was no battery power at all. No lights either. I then pushed it off to the side of the trail and I tried it again and it worked no problem. This morning my son took it for a ride and it worked great. I tried it 2 hrs later and no such luck. Tried rolling it again and this time it did not work. checked for broken wires and could not find anything. I did check the battery cables and it appeared that the positive cable was a bit weak. So I'm planning on changing that but that's a long shot. If that doesn't work, what other things should I look for and replace. I probably will replace the solenoid while I'm in there too but other than those things ..... what else could it be?

Things it could be:
Bad connection(look for loose connections or a bad ground between the solenoid and battery box)
Bad solenoid
A bad spot on the armature in the starter.
Check the ignition switch and wires.

You put the answer in the question. Starting is it needing high amp from battery.
a weak positive battery connection can provide low amp but not for a high amp like starting.

Just clean both battery connection and bolt it firmly.

Personnaly to avoid battery connection fail i replace nut from bolt battery connection with nylon locknut.
