1989 trailblazer 250 Rev gear "bogg"

road a '89 250 yesterday that ran strong but when ou put the gear selector into rev it just bogged down when ou tried giving it gass and didn't move in reverse? whats causing this & can the quad still be safely driven in forward gear with out doing more damage to the reverse gear (untill I get around to fixing it)?
*** sorry it was a trailboss 250

Did you push the override button to go into reverse? It will allow it to go faster in reverse. This can also be disconnected so you never have to push it.

I have a 96 and a 97 the 97 drives in reverse without pushing the button and the 96 does what yours does.
