TrailBlazer performance mods?
Hello, Im a newbie to quads and to Polaris TrailBlazers. Had issues with it last week with it not starting but now its away getting fixed.
Now Im looking into performance parts for the future.
What would ye recommend as good value for money upgrades? Exhaust, clutch, air filter, card etc etc... Links and reasons why would be very helpfull.
Hope ye can help,
Regards
Mark

Call Rick @ Ritter Cycle and get a RCR pipe and clutch kit. You'll pickup about 8hp...a nice, noticeable gain.

Sounds good.
On another note I was looking on his website and seen he has a package deal going on with exhaust, clutch air filter and jets stage one kit for 325dollars, what kind of HP gains could I expect from this kit? It would benefit me more to get it all in one go to keep shipping costs to Ireland low

I'd be interested in knowing about the $325 kit too.

Also if I wanted could I just take my head to get it ported and polished or is there miles more to it then I think? For example would I need to upgrade some other part of the engine if I was to get headwork done (Obviously I'd have a performance exhaust on the quad, but would I need a bigger carb or piston?)
Just emailed him there about the kit.

There is nothing to port on a 2-stroke head. The head could be cut down to get you a better quench and a bump in compression. Rick can do that for you. Again, call or email Rick and he will be glad to answer any questions you may have. He won't steer you in the wrong direction.

Ritter or HPD can both port the head and bore the factory carb. Boring the factory carb makes a very nice gain. Another thing to be aware of on the 400's is that any piston other than a Wiseco has a tendency to break skirts or grenade costing alot of money and headaches down the road. When doing anything more than pipe and clutching a person really needs to add a grdle and case saver, modded 400's have a tendency to break the left front tap on the cylinder and scatter the jug from the case.

i actually had this same kit from RCR on my old 2001 TB that i sold years ago. for the money, you can't go wrong. as we all know, the TB is not a "performance" quad by no means. it is a fun "sporty" quad though. after i put on all the RCR stuff the 250 2 stroke woke up big time. it would do wheel stands with a little tug on the handlebars and stock it wouldn't do a wheelie unless you used a hill to get it started. it had more power all the way thru, from bottom to top end. but the only thing i didn't like was the huge stall the clutch spring added. so i eventually removed it and put the stock one back in. didn't lose much power wise from doing that either. just a little harder to wheelie...good luck
