atv starts then dies

i just picked up a 2005 trailblazer 250 stroke last week and i was tols it was sitting for about 3-4 months.

i put a new plug in it and it starts and runs for about 5 seconds and the plug is wet,so i put another plug in it and it does the same thing,
any suggestions?
i was told possibly a bad coil that is why it does not stay running.
they gave me a new coil with the quad when i picked it up.

Sounds like it is flooding. I'd clean the carb and replace fuel in the tank & lines first.

update

got it to start and run
i can not get the idle to go down
if i turn the idle screw left or right it does not change
and ideas?
is it time to rebuild the carb?
i have looked for kits but i can not find one for a 2005
