250 Trailblazer for racing hare scrambles

A friend of mine started racing hare scrambles last summer and recently picked up a Scrambler 400 2x4 to race with. I've been thinking about getting a Trailblazer 250 to run the series. The courses are pretty tight so I think the 250 would be fine plus I can pick one up very reasonably. I also work at a Polaris dealership so parts are cheap for me. I realize this isn't the ideal quad for racing but think it might be fine for what I'm looking to do with it. Anyone else race a 250?

yep

I have used mine in simular type races, they are quite nimble and quick enough for the short bursts needed. Just my opinion though. I have three trail blazers and a scrambler and find them to keep with the scrambler just fine in the tight trails.

Polaris 250s are so under rated. Yes when they are stock they are major pooches but they have a ton of power potential. I have done a lot of flat track and drag racing with my 87 cyclone 250 and if you tune and clutch them right they can run right with a scrambler, 400ex and even a slightly modified 250r. If you really want to get some power out of that thing find yourself find yourself some old cyclone clutches, cylinder and head. You will get better performance from those parts than any aftermarket companies offer!
