Rear Brake foot pedal not working
I have a 2004 Trailblazer 250 with a brake issue. Rear brake works with the hand brake but not with foot pedal. The fluid level is full (at the pedal assembly) but it seems like there is no resistance on the plunger. I went to bleed the line at the rear caliper but bleeder is just spinning-can't open. Any thoughts would be apprecaited. Thanks!

spinning like the threads are stripped?
Ther may be dirt in it, and you can pull the nipple completely out, and blow it out with air.
reinstall.
it took forever to bleed my foot brake after the bike was rolled. I jacked up the front end, then also removed the foot brake line clips (that are on the frame/swingarm), so any air in there could get out. (the idea is that the brake line is level and the line doesnt have a tall loop in it that can hold an air bubble). then i just pumped (probably 10 pumps of fluid through that foot brake system--be sure to keep the reservoir cup full while doing this or you introduce air into the system.
Works great now and has worked ever since. (we haven't rolled it again, either )

The trans in all of our 250s leak. Unless it is pouring out I would not bother fixing it. It's not that hard to fix it, but it is a lot of work to get the transmission out.
If you do fix it, use hondabond 4 or yamabond 4, either will work great. (you just seal the case halves with it).

I tried your approach. Got fluid coming out after just 3 pumps. Locked it down then opened it and pumped it again atleast 15 times. Each pump produced a trickle of fluid pulsing perfectly each time I hit the pedal. Still no resitance on pedal and no closure of caliper. I did release line from all the clamps. Thoughts?

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm just asking: Have you ever bled brakes before? The approach I gave you was to 'get the ball rolling'. By this I mean 'there was a crapload of air in my lines because we rolled it, so this was the easiest way to get it out'.
After you get the ball rolling, you will need to bleed the brake like you normally would.. Or a brake bleeder kit.
procedure:
tighten the fitting
pump the pedal 5-10 times, the last time holding it down.
loosen the fitting to let any pressure come out. (make sure to follow the pedal down, and continue holding until the fitting is tightened back up.)
tighten fitting
allow the pedal to come up
make sure to keep the pedal reservoir full and free of debri (leave cap off while doing this procedure ).
repeat...
as you can see, you need one person to operate the pedal (the wife or kid ) while you do the tightening/loosening of the bleeder valve...you just can't be in both places at the same time.
If you don't keep pressure on the pedal (and don't keep it down while you release the fitting, you just let air back up into the system).
Let us know if you get it fixed.

To bleed brakes:start with the right front.pump the lever a few times, lock the brake, loosen the bleeder just a bit, then tighten before it gets air. Repeat this process on the left front, then move to the rear. On the rear if the bleeder is bad just loosen the line to bleed it. While doing this make sure the brake fluid is clean and the fluid resivoir(spelling ?) is full.

Thanks guys. And no I would never take a helping hand the wrong way- I've tried the normal process but also let it pulse out as I descibed earlier to see if the lines had a rust or other build up. Ran enough fluid through it to see it look good. I got a bit of a pedal but still zero resistance on the rear wheels. I have the quad jacked up 2 ft off the ground (but level). Would you agree that the plunger is working properly and the issue lies in the rear caliper? No leaks visible in any of the lines or at the plunger assembly. trying to narrow down the possibilites. Thanks again!

On models like the 1995 425 magnum the front & rear brakes work when the brake lever on the master cylinder is applied. On those the rear brake is mechanical. Idk if your model works like that or not. Have you tried to adjust the foot brake rod? That might be the cure.
