wife recently broke the reverse in our 2000 tb, i disconnected the shifter and tried it right at the transmison and still didnt work. Anyone have any ideas? is there somekind of weak point in the transmision that may have broken? thanks

my sons did the same thing. took the tranny apart and found the clip holding the reverse drive gear had slid down the shaft allowing the gear to move from being in contact with the main gear. Assume from pulling it back into reverse while still moving. hope this helps.
Ive got the same thing going on it clicks in like it engages and doesent grind whir or anything! we where rocking it back and forth trying to get it out of a mud hole when it quit.
