The wife's 02 - 250 started making a clunking sound when taking off or pulling the yard trailer , running down the trail I didn't notice it but pulled plastics off to get a better look at things keeping in mind the chain and sprockets are original ( bike was bought new and she hardly uses it) chain runs stright sprockets are fine . Now when I shifted it into drive and spun the wheels by hand it seems like there is a dead spot where it makes the clunk possably in the tranny, anyone had this issue or advice on what to look into ?? Look up "silent chain". There is a chain in the trans that stretches and eventaully will slip and sound just like a bad rear chain. Time consuming fix but not hard. Have to pull trans completely out, open it up, and put a new chain in.
