Help ID'ing this Polaris?
I need help Identifying the year of this Polaris. Here's the deal, I know it is a Polaris Trail Blazer 250. I have been unsuccessful locating a VIN. I think it is between a 2000 and 2002 and need to get a service manual, so the right year will help. I have two photos, maybe someone here can help me. This is my first Polaris so I do not know much about them yet.
Thanks ahead,
Clay

thats a toughy....somewhere on that frame is the vin stamped in. its hard to tell on the older ones because they all look the same body wise. one of your best indicators is going to be the color. as of now, i dont know, but ill see if i can help you figure it out

Thanks blueline.
I have looked all over this thing and have not found a VIN. I am going to pull the body off soon to do some work on the fuel system. I would like to know what carb kit to order so I can start rolling again. I was told they were all the same, but have a hard time believing a '98 carb is the same as an '04.
Anyway, any help I can get will be appreciated greatly.

Okay. I got out there today and pulled the carb, and while I was at it, I pulled the clutch cover. The side of the clutch is stamped with :
03/11/02
Is it safe to assume this is a 2002 or would they have used these dated components on a 2003 or later? I know a lot of mfgs start releasing next years around March or so. Maybe '03?

my best guess, is that it is a 2002. i say that because its the only year i have found that had a blue body and yellow seat. the date found could be the manfacture date of the part, not necessarily the quad, and even at that date, it still could be an '03.
somewhere on that frame is a stamped VIN# though, somewhere towards the front of the machine. probably cant see it, would probably have to was the frame and feel for the impression of it.
although, for the most part, parts and a service manual is basically going to be the same from 2000-2003, i dont think they made a single change to that machine, and i think you are in the right ball park there

SOLVED! It is a 2002 Polaris Trailblazer. The VIN IS stamped on the outside of the frame just behind the left front tire. It had been painted over, making it totally hidden. A powerdrill and wire brush quickly revealed it. Thanks to all the help.
