Problems with the Recoil Starter
Are any of you having any problems with the recoil starter on either the Trail Boss or Trail Blazer? I had the battery die on my 00 Trail Blazer so I decided to just use the pull start, well it was fine for about 1-2 weeks and then on Friday I pulled it and the rope stayed in my hand. Well if I back up about a month... The battery died on my 03 Trail Boss so i did the same and well you guessed it the rope snapped in my hand the same way. Is this a common thing with these motors or.......... am I wrong to want to pull start my quad instead of using the electric starter...any ideas on a replacement rope to use or should i just not use the pull starter. Thanks for the inputs

sounds like maybe the rope was just getting old, I pull my 99 magnum and 00 scrambler pretty often and have never broke a rope yet, a lot of times water gets in the case and rots the rope, this may have been the case for yours.

I just purchased a 95 blazer for a real good price. The only thing that is really wrong with it is that the recoil starter housing is gone. I wrap a piece of rope around the pulley and it cranks every time. My question is will the recoil starter from other years and motors bolt up to my 95 blazer. The OEM parts are really pricey and I would love to be able to salvage the piece from a wreck or something like that. Any advise would be humbley appreciated. Thanks.

contact tt425 on here, he would probably have one that would fit and is a great guy top deal with. to my knowledge most polarisis have the same side cover, so you should be good.
