Wont stay running
Hello, I just picked up a used 96 Trail Blazer that runs great if you keep the throttle going. It wont idle at all though. It sounds like it is sucking too much air but I am not sure. The only way to get it strated is with half choke and then using the throttle as well. If you let up at all it winds down and dies.
I put in a new fuel filter, new plug and the value on the bottom of the tank was leaking so I replaced it as well. I also drained the tank and put in fresh gas. Topped off the transmission fulid and checked the air filter which looked like a K&N, redish purple in color.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
And if you know, how hard is it to take out the carb and clean it?

I figured out the problem. The intake gasket is torn so I have it at a shop being fixed.

The carb is really easy to take off and clean as long as you understand the basic workings of a carb. I clean mine regularly and leave all the hoses connected and clean the parts serperate. If your bike has been sitting for a while I would recommend taking it off the engine and drain the bottom plug and take off the reservoir and clean the jet/floats/and needle.

After taking it in and having them clean the carb and putting in Hi altitude jets and the intake gasket the bike runs great now.
