timing problem

polais trail blazer 2001....can not get the 3 lines to view in the site hole......if your looking at hem they are on the right of it....have moved the magnito both ways...up and down but it will not site in......i need help what am i over looking.....have book on hand...not helping

do you have the engine running at the corrct rpm's while checking? ignition timing on these , is something that just gets off, unless you've replaced something.
