96 Trail Blazer chain information needed
First off this is my first post on this board, I have found a lot of information here and I appreciate the vast aray of knowledge here.
So I picked up this 96 Trail Blazer that needed lots of love, for sure she has seen better days but she is slowly coming around. One thing I noticed was excessive slack in the chain even when my 180 pound butt is sitting on it.
With that said what is the proper amount of tension this chain should have on it? Also it looks as if i just need to loosen the two axle retaining bolts and rotate the axle to apply the tension is that also correct?
Thanks in advance for help.

For adjustment yes. Loosen two bolts and rotate axle carrier.
As for proper amount, I like about an inch. Tad less for lighter rider tad more for a heavier one. Remember it tightens as it compresses. So if you get any air time you may not like the outcome if you go too tight.

Thanks for the quick reply, right now it appears to very loose and is leaving wear marks on the top chain guide. I know that there will always be some wear there but it seems to be excessive. What would be a good sign of it being to loose other than it coming off the sprockets

Again, free play of more then a measured inch. Unless the riders weight is excessive would be too much.
