I have never installed one but have often thought about it. They best I could tell you is visit ATV Tires Wheels Aftermarket Parts ATV Quad Winch Exhaust ATVs UTVs. Those guys have a really nice kit that includes gauge, electronic sending unit, and directions.
Good Luck, let us know how it goes!

I have oil pressure, coolant temp, and voltage gauges on mine. I had to drill the bottom of the thermostat housing and tap the hole with a 1/8" NPT tap. There are no extra ports to use for the sensor. The wiring is pretty simple. There will be a few orange and white wires on the left side of the battery that can be used for key power. Ground goes to the battery negative. The last wire will go from the gauge to the sensor that is installed on the engine. Getting the cahoneys to drill the cylinder head is the hardest part lol.

The 500's have an inspection port on the lower left side of the block, for checking oil pressue, for the oil gauge. They don't carry alot of oil pressure ,so you may want to get a low pressure gauge(0-50), for easier reading

The oil feed line for the cyl head has 2 banjo fittings, 1 in the block and 1 in the head. I found a banjo bolt that has a 1/8" pipe thread boss on it, so all i had to do was replace the banjo bolt at the block. I originally had it in the head, but the engine runs under 10 psi when it gets warm, and it barely registered on the gauge. I moved it down to the block and it works a little better now. If I did it again I would probably just do coolant temp and voltage. If you have an 850, they will run 20-30 psi, so the oil pressure gauge would be worth it. I have a line running from the engine, and the sender is mounted on the right side under the air box.

I come from the heavy duty truck world, where trucks can have upwards of 25 gauges in the dash, a few extra gauges just seems right to me lol. I am actually contemplating replacing the oil pressure gauge with fuel pressure gauge lol

If you look at my pic of the side of the engine, the newer 550's have a plug on the cyl head witha blue paint mark on it. Thats what is used for checking oil pressure with a manual gauge. The port in the block is cast closed and not drilled on mine. Polaris uses a really small metric thread for the plug, and I couldnt source a fitting for it (the polaris tool is only for temporary use and its like 5 inches long)
