How fast can it go?

I've had XP 550 For awhile and its broke in, and I finally set my pod to read the MPH's. I realized I was traveling 50 mph's and still had some throttle! Do I need to go any faster?

Anybody else with a XP 550
How fast can they GO?

i do not have an ATV at all...i know, shuuuu thats our secret. i am only 22 years old and in college, so i simply can not afford one. funny story about the 6x6 and why its my avatar pic, about a year and a half ago, i got to go to a special dealer only invite because i worked at a dealership (now i only work summers) by polaris to ride all the brand new 2009's quads coming out. first time i saw and rode the XP, they were still 6 months out from being relased from dealers. so i get to brag a little as when everyone was just starting to see pics of the quad, i was actually riding it. they had the 09 800 6x6, and i crashed it into a tree. to my surprise, it did not damage the quad. i was the last person ride the 6x6 on the trails before lunch. during lunch we say them loading the 6x6 up in the semi, asked why, and said someone had broke the rear rear axle. my girlfriends dad was with me, and he was next to get to ride it, but never got the chance. so he always joked that i broke the biggest heaviest 6x6 made. so the 09 6x6 has a special place in my heart after that fateful and final ride.

i bet if you did a little bit you could get it up over 60. stock it is probably real world restricted to about 45-50 because of gearing, weight, ect.

WOW! I didn't realize they could go that fast. I have a used 2007 Sportsman 800 eif I just bought and now I wonder how fast it will run. I've only had it up to 40 and that seemed plenty fast, especially with the aggressive mud tires it has on it.

your 800 is going to top out at about 55ish. the XP have more of a direct drive with the clutches in the back and the motor sideways compared to the standard sportsman, and the clutching itself is different

Seconding the 60mph for the 500efi. In a crouch at 10,000ft in CO I was hitting 60 on the LOOOOONG straights. I would imagine similar situation at sealevel you could do a little better. But after 55 or so you had to have a lot of road and patience to get any more out of it.
