Is there a need for aftermarket skid plate? 550xp

i am just curios. i know there is a plastic cover over the frame skid plate stock. does anyone know if i should get an aftermarket plate or just leave well enough alone? anyone with experience...please advise TIA.

Yes Yes and Yes. The factory ones are plastic. We have been selling quite a few of the Ricochet systems on our site. They are by far the best I have tested.

Yes the skids we have are made to order by the manufacture. All different types and options. Remember when choosing your brand, you get what you pay for. For a quad that costs between 7-10K it does not pay to skimp on quality. I have talked to several people who went with a lower quality brand and ended up paying in the long run when they did not do the job causing punctures in the lower engine.

Not any much worse than stock. Its more work with the A Arms but worth it vs fixing CV boots. ;-) We were on a awesome ride several weeks ago when after 300 miles into the trail when one of the guys noticed a riped rear CV boot. That puts a damper on any ATV trip for the owner of the quad.

Ricochet..........period. Aluminum Products make nice stuff but there isn't as much protection as the Ricochet.
