2010 550xp rattle noise?????
Is it just me or do all 550xp seem to make a valve type of rattle noise at high RPM's ??? only really seem to notice it is at high speed/RPM. . . .does not tick or rattle at idle though? let me know ....normal or shop time.... i remember this since it was new. just thought it was the nature of the beast. the more time i spend on it the more i start to wonder if this is normal.

could this just be the fuel injector???

I have an '09 550XP and notice the same, "rattle". I (hope) think it's normal.

yea....i called the dealer and he said they are noisy but to bring it in. im an hour plus away. hate to take the day off to find out its normal noises. Im glad someone finally has the same sounds from the engine. . . .like a ticking hum if you will. definitly more noticible on pavement and higher rpm & speed.

No rattling on mine, Infact it sounds smoother as the rpms go up, I especially like the sound it make around 4500 to 5000 rpms, a mass amount of air Being sucked into the motor (power)

hmmmm dont get me wrong it does not sound as if there is a failure taking place like a rod knock or broken valve. runs strong and have no performance issues. just never had a an open engine machine that i could hear myself think on. i know the Harley makes a valve tap noise also very faint but then again my exhaust sets off car alarms LOL ..........its beautiful. especially at night when the flames are popping out the exhaust

Its always a pain to take the Rig in for repair, Possibly wait to see if the noise gets worse before taking it in.

im kind of leaning toward that.....was hoping to get more responses stating this was normal....

I own a 2010 with about 180 miles on it- and the more I ride it and stay into the torque band it does rattle alot- When it peaks over that it smooths out but is really loud about 5300 RPMs
i have had 4 500 HO's and the 550 makes the gunt noise but adds the rattling like valves are floating or someting .. bit it is very annoying
