550xp vs 850xp detailed discussion

Hey all, I'm wanting to hear from owners of both the 550 and the 850 here. I'm trying to decide the best one for me and wanted to hear some first hand commentary on the ride. I ride aggressive slopes with rolls and pitches around 45*, I know the 550 hugs these like a champ at all speeds, but how does the 850 compare with the extra weight? I appreciate all informative input.

The 850 has the bigger motor.

Okay okay. If you look real close the engine on the 550 is a single cylinder and on the 850 it is a dual cylinder.

Okay. I was riding with a 550 xp once and I noticed on the headlight pod it said 550 xp. Mine says 850 xp.

The only difference I see here locally is that the 850 can wheelie very easy with all that power, which I think is not good for hilly terrain, I think the 550 has plenty of power for riding

I really like this discussion.
I don't have side-by-side experience between the 850 and 550. I have a new 550 and like it a lot. Can't imagine the "NEED" (four letter word there) maybe "WANT" for more power.
