Question about "pins"???

When I go to General Discussion, the first two threads have a pin image in the right corner of the box. These same two threads appear and are repeated on all 52 pages of that category. How did the pins get there & how do I get rid of them? Also, is it possible for me to remove one of my own posts?

They are "stickies", and the pin icon represents that. They are threads, that a moderator or admin has deemed "important" enough to sticky them at the top so that they do not get buried under all the rest of the threads. And to be honest with you, both of those threads are threads that I sticked (I put the pins there) because I was getting numerous PM's about receiving that info that i put them in a thread and sticked them so they would be more noticeable. There is nothing that you can really do to not see them.

Too many sticky's = bad idea. Nothing worse than having to scroll down 50 messages to get to the new stuff!

Yes for the most part that I know of. You can login and view your post,
down in the lower Right hand corner you should see Edit. When in Edit
mode there should be a Delete some where.

I just don't know if this site has a limit on time you can Edit your post
before it becomes permanent.

Thanks Scott! I got it. While we are on the technical subject, is there a way for me to receive only PM's in my email. As it is, all the replies end up in my internet inbox...its getting old. Thanks.

Yes, shown in pics.
If you choose "No email" from my previous post pic, you'll still see where
you are subscribed to posts that you either start or reply to with the box I'm pointing to in this pic.

If you choose Do not subscribe (or something like that), you wont know
when you get a reply to a question you asked (posted) or a reply to a post that you may have answered on.
