Exclamation Kick "Frisky" off the forum

I sent him some parts without the money upfront like a dummy. Needless to say it has been a month and no money. Sold parts to other people and had no problem getting my money. I think he joined this forum for the purpose to scam somebody. Tried to call him left messages, sent pm still no reply. Read ATV general discussion "I think I got ripped off",Atv parts for sale "1995 400 xplorer 4x4" Thanks

I will meet with them within a few days. I live outside city limits so I have to go to the county sherriff's dept and it's about 30 miles away. But I am going to try and get something done. I have even thought about calling Rochestor, MN police dept myself and inform them of the situation. Not paying for something when you get it is STEALING.
Thanks.

I had an issue like this on eBay once. I had purchased a 14" floor mounted band saw for the shop using the 'buy it now". I sent the guy my money (paypal) and got an email the next day acknowledging payment, but never heard anything else after that. After several weeks of sending emails and getting no response I was getting very irate. I contacted paypal and initiated an investigation. I had his initial email and did a little investigating of my own. I noticed that his email came from a "professor".tx.edu email address. After being rather sleuthy and calling the state college switchboard, I convinced a secretary that I owed the professor some money. She gave me his home address and phone number to a suburb outside of San Antonio Tx. Convinced I had located the "perp" I called and left messages on the home answering machine. Some of them were rather threatening. One afternoon a few days later the professors wife called me apologizing. She told me that the seller, her husband, had suffered a stroke and had been in the hospital for 6 weeks and he had just been released to come back home. He apparently had life changing injury from the stroke. I felt so embarrassed about getting so angry over something so trivial as this saw. I got the saw delivered to my house a few days later. Finally I sold it because every time I used it I thought about the circumstances surrounding its acquisition and it made me feel bad.

Moral of the story? Sometimes things are not as obvious as they first appear. Ever since that day I try not to jump to conclusions.

I have been on both sides of this. I bought something on ePay and the guy died before he sent it. I got my money back through Paypal.

The other time, someone bought from me. I had a heart attack that night and spent the next week in the hospital and another 2 months sleeping in front of the TV. Once I got off the pain meds, I got back on the computer. He had sent me irate letters, but I couldn't blame him. I apologized, explained, and just refunded his money.

But...I have had several try to scam me. So you just can't tell. "My 3-year-old bought it" was one of my favorites.

Good luck getting this one settled. If he is still posting, then he needs to be dealt with. Otherwise, you just can't tell.

I wasn't able to come up with nothing but dead ends. I even contacted the Rochester Police. So I will take it as a lesson learned. I will say this 99.9% of people on this forum seem to be honest, helpfull, trustworthy great people. I have people send me payment before I ship. They notify me when they send payment. I return the favor and notify them when payment is received and part is shipped with expected delivery date. Most of the time people notify me when they get the part. I guess I just trusted everyone. I sold almost $300 worth of items without getting the money first and it was working great. People would not have to wait twice as long to get parts.
I enjoy this forum even thou I only have experience with older 4 strokes(425 magnums) and some 2 stokes(very little).
