Jagged X Polaris RZR Takes Vegas to Reno |
|
Aug 30, 2010 - 9:15 AM - by dascrow
|
Minneapolis, Aug. 26, 2010– The Jagged X / Polaris racing 1919 RANGER RZR kicked off the second half of the Best in the Desert series with a convincing win at the Vegas to Reno race this past weekend. The No. 1919, piloted by Brandon Schueler, finished more than three hours in front of second place and was one of only five of the ten starters to finish the 534-mile race.
The Jagged X RANGER RZR left the line at 6:36 a.m. in eighth position out of the ten starters present. All of the competition looked strong through the first couple of pits but Brandon began moving up in the pack and was running in first position by the time they rolled through pit five. Jagged X’s prep work paid off with only one little tire leak through the entire race.
This marks the fourth consecutive finish and win of the Vegas to Reno race for Polaris, Brandon Schueler and the No. 1919 Jagged X RANGER RZR.
Next race is the Bluewater Desert Challenge, in Parker, AZ, Oct. 15-17.
Jagged X is sponsored by Polaris Industries, Mountain States Contracting, Elka Suspension, CR Designs, S&S Off Road, Simpson Products, ATL Fuel Systems, Tire Balls, MTA, Vision X Off Road, OMF Performance, Affordable Powder Coat, Robby Gordon Off Road, Trophy Engineering, Fullbore Innovations.

Polaris 2011 ATV Line Up |
|
Jul 29, 2010 - 9:01 AM - by 4Nines

For model year 2009, Polaris introduced the all-new Sportsman XP and saw the Sportsman XP 850 become the No. 1 Big Bore ATV. Model Year 2010 saw the Sportsman XP features added to the 2-Up line, and a redesigned Scrambler, Trail Blazer and Trail Boss. For 2011, Polaris continues to update models in the Sportsman line and build upon its success of introducing models that are not only innovative, but appeal to a wide variety of ATV enthusiasts.
“We have made significant changes to more than 90 percent of our ATV line up during the last two model years,” said Matt Homan, vice president and general manager of Polaris’ Off-Road Division. “For Model Year 2011, we’ll continue the trend of redesigning our product line to ensure we have the hardest working, smoothest riding ATVs in the industry.”
The Sportsman 500 H.O. continues to be the best-selling automatic 4x4 ATV of all time and for 2011, along with Sportsman 800 EFI, Sportsman Big Boss 6x6 800 and Sportsman Touring 500 H.O., Polaris is updating both the style and functionality. The models will feature an aggressive new front end style that raises the front radiator, gives a smaller appearance, is less-bulky, and improves handling and sight lines for the driver. As part of the redesign, the Sportsman 400 H.O. will rejoin the rest of the value line in the restyled chassis.
The Sportsman 800 EFI, Sportsman 500 H.O., Sportsman Touring 500 H.O. and Sportsman 400 H.O. also have an improved drive train with a quieter, more efficient transmission for smoother operation. The Sportsman 800 EFI will see an improved weight bias due to the engine being moved rearward more than three inches. The new engine placement results in a lighter steering effort and better handling.
These models include a new Lock & Ride front rack that... [Read More]

2010 PPIHC - UTV Premier |
|

Well its official! Doug Siddens, in his 2009 Polaris RZR-S, is the first person ever to drive a UTV at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb!
On June 27th, 2010, Doug was the only UTV in the Powersports Exhibition class. Not only did he finish first in his class, but he also beat out over 40% of the 152 competitors on race day with his time of 14:03.
Just reaching the top of this monumental mountain is a mechanical feat within itself. To do it in the time he did is more than respectable. There were also some other variables on race day that make this run even that much more notable. For one, it was snowing about the last three miles of the climb, and two, Doug has no professional racing experience. Not bad for a small town guy with no factory backing and an entire Powersport resting on his shoulders!
But you don't have to hop in your RZR and try to visualize what Doug's historic run was like, as he captured it all thanks to several ContourHD camcorders. So load up the beautiful HD version of the video below, turn the sound up and enjoy a ride up the gnarliest hill climb in the world!

Polaris RZR - Pikes Peak Challenge |
|
Jun 14, 2010 - 8:00 AM - by dascrow

In the world of Powersports, it seems as though it's getting harder and harder to do perform something new or compete in an event that hasn't already been done a million times. Whether it is a unique trick, particular racing style or a specific event, chances are someone has already been there and done that. One would think that is would especially hold true when referring to the second oldest race in American history, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Man and machine have been participating in this historic race since 1916 and it is second only in age to the Indianapolis 500. Well after more than 8,700 machines have raced up this monumental peak, we can now say that Doug Siddens in his 2009 Polaris RZR-S have accomplished a new first and can be added to the elite who have concord the same feat!
