RVS ECU and Clutch Kit

Hello all, i was looking at getting a ecu flash from rvs aswell as a clutch kit from them for my 18’ sportsman 1000. Could anybody comment on if this would make this machine more of a beast and if it would be durable and wouldnt drown or anything? Also was considering uni airbox vents

Clutch kits are always a good idea especially if your increasing your tire size. I do not have any expierece with the Ecu tunes, I can only state what a friend of mine said which was... it was a waste of 400 bucks. He did not give me a lot of details so that's all the information I can provide. Hopefully someone else who actually has the tune installed will chime in.

It's possible the only reason why he hates the tune is because he only mud rides. There might be more benefits if you are trail riding.

I just installed the rvs tune on my 18 850 with a gse pipe. I think the power gains are similar between the 2. If you are looking for big gains, your expectations might be too high. A factory turbocharged engine can see big gains from just a tuner but non turbo, not so much, wether it be a car, truck or atv. I can say you are spending allot of money per horsepower gain. If I had to do it over again, Im not sure I would spend the $500 on it.
Im going to do his clutch kit once I replace my tires. Im hoping for better gains from the clutching, plus it is much cheaper.

if you go on their site u will see that to get big gains u need a full exhaust with a modified air box.
They have 3 or 4 different stages of ECU reflashes.

I have a UNI filter, snorkels, GSE trail tamer and I did the RVS stage 3 ECU Flash. Really made a BIG difference on my sportsman highlifter. Fans come on quicker, rev limiter was raised and overall the bike just rode better. I did the Dalton primary spring in my clutches but I think Highlifters may be set up differently (don't quote me on that). Ryan is absolutely great with customer service, he replies quickly and always eager to help years after I bought the ECU flash.

Overall, was it a lot of money? Yes. But do I regret it? Not a single second, probably one of the best mods I have done to my atv

By big gains, you mean a couple horsepower?

The biggest gain you will notice with the ECU flash is the speed limiter is removed, it will not turn your bike into a neck snapping beast.

To increase power, you need to increase airflow. a computer can't do that alone. yes there are some gains to be had because the machines are set up to meet EPA requirements.

Ryan has had nothing but good reviews on here. and he's been on here for years. but if you're going to do it be prepared to do intake and exhaust mods to get the best out of it.
