Moto Alliance Viper 4500 Elite install review
I decided on a Viper 4500 because the cost was the same as a 3500, and the winch has good reviews..Here is my impression.
On my machine, the voltage regulator is in the way. Remove it and re-install after installation.
Winch is fine. It's my first, but everything is heavy duty. What they could have done-Give you some additional corrugated plastic tubing for wiring protection, and because the wires are so long, only crimp half of them and give you unused crimps..Then you could customize the size without having so much extra wiring.
Mount isn't so great. The instructions for the mount specify to use 4 8mm x25mm bolts that are supplied with the winch. Well those will not work. They are barley long enough to thread, and if it was to be under stress, probably pull the threads out of the winch... Instead...Get 4 8mm x 30 mm bolts...I used 12.9 socket head (all my local hardware store had).
Now--The other bolts are grade 5 5/16..While you at the same hardware store, get 4 5/16 x 1 inch grade 8 yellow with flat and lock washers..Why not try to prevent rust while being a bit safer?
Their is no instructions for the handlebar switch. Look on their sites for a picture how it is assembled.
On my 2019 570 SP, the frame holes did not align with the mount. I had to run a 1/2 inch drill bit through the 4 holes, and fiddle with the mount to get it to align.
The mount wants the rope to go through the top..But then it doesn't really work right..So I have it going through the bottom..looks correct and less angle to go through the front.
So--now ask me how that 15 minute Polaris one sounds..
