ATV sizing for teen

I have a 13 yea old girl that we're looking to get an ATV for. She rides my Sportsman 500 around our property with no issues but she needs to take her safety course and MN says she must be fitted to the ATV. Can anyone give me an idea of how you would fit an ATV to a kid? I know I could go to a dealer but we will be buying used.

To me, "fitting" would mean that the rider fits on the machine. The rider can reach all the controls comfortably with their feet on the floor boards/ foot pegs and backside on the seat. I have a 13yo grandson who is going to need an adult size machine this year. The Sportsman 90 will still pull him around, but he looks like a circus bear on a tricycle. He doesn't have the experience yet, so I will put him on one of the 325 machines when we go to the trail.

Mine: 2018 Sportsman 850SP - 26" Bear Claw HTRs on OEM steel wheels(I really don't like the Aluminum ones)

Hers: 2019 Sportsman 450. 26" Bear Claw HTRs on Moose 427X Wheels.

2007 Sportsman 500 EFI, Polaris Winch, 25" Bear Claws QSC Clutch Kit, Hand Warmers
2001 Magnum 325 MOSE 12" rear wheel conversion. 25" Sedona Coyote tires

LOL, I'm not trying to be funny but just let her get on different machines and see if they "fit". What the regs are talking about is can they reach and operate all the controls. It doesn't cost anything to go to a dealership and sit on the machines. Some places will even let her test ride if they think they might make a sale. IMO, she's comfortable, it fits. 13 year old girls grow FAST!

This is from MN online Atv Safety Course. It is similar to course my son took for NH. Not sure what regulations are for MN but NH let’s parents decide what is best. When my son was 13 I bought him 450 H.O. Wish I had just bought 570 for him. Here’s link:https://www.offroad-ed.com/minnesota...024_700101119/

Id just get the 570 if your child is responsible enough to handle a bigger four wheeler.
