2015 sportsman 570 regulator issues

Have a 2015 570 has 60 hours on it roughly now. Went to go for a ride today and check engine light came on and power steering light, pulled codes and had a 168-3 something about system over voltage. Checked the voltage gauge on cluster and when reved up i can see as high as 16-18 volts but 14-14.4 at idle. Curious if you guys ever see this issue with the regulators in these things.

Yep, the 570 is well known for junk VR's
I've found that the display voltage is sometimes very inaccurate too.
Check your charging system with a meter to know for sure what's going on. If it is in fact over charging replace the VR

Definitely sounds of the symptoms of a bad VR. I'm going to try these guys out if and when I need to: https://squareup.com/store/cycleworx...QogppzbGct7c4s.

Im gonna give it a better check over this evening, with my multi meter and make sure i have no rubbed through wires or anything. And that regulator looks nice, is pricey tho... but i suppose if it “never fails” it would be worth it. Do guy ever have issues with the stators on these bikes? Im sure my issue is a regulator but just curious

Stators seem to be fine for the most part.

Over voltage is typically the VR.

Polaris has updated the regulators for 2019. Might not be worth the extra cost of the aftermarket one.

Garage
My 2014 had same issue but only when the VR got hot and then would stop charging. Fine since dealer replaced the VR.

Well i checked out the wiring today, all seems fine no chaffing or poor connections. Decided to go with a Mofset VR from RMstator was cheap at 180$ shipped v.s the 289$ + tax polaris wanted. Should be here by the end of the week i hope!

Well got the new regulator a day early decided to try and fault my original one again and couldn't get it to do it. Installed the “quality” rmStator regulator... even came in an unmarked box labeled “made in china” right on is and to no surprise overcharges at 15.2 volts. Confirmed it with a multimeter also. So somewhat stumped as to my actual issue unless its really just a Chinese made pile of garbage regulator. Emailed RMstator see what comes of it i suppose. Anyone else ever purchased their parts?
