Hi, I have a 21012 Polaris Sportsman 550 EPS. Machine has set for a while. Replaced battery and tried to start atv. Wouldn’t start so I started checking connectors, I found that one of the pins on the ECM had turned green and corroded to nothing. Has anyone seen this problem, if so, was there a fix other than replacing ECM and main harness?
That happens when there is current going through a connection and moisture is present. That and galvanic corrosion cause these types of issues in electrical components. You can either buy a new ECM or have yours refurbished. In either event it's a good idea to die-electric grease all your electrical connections going forward.
