2011 sportsman error code 0 84 2 PLAUSIBILITY FAULT NEED HELP

2011 polaris sportsman 550 touring

in my manual it says VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL PLAUSIBILITY FAULT.

ANY IDEAS what this is?

the atv works fine, the check engine light comes on, then the power steering goes out. i thought it was the power steering for a while, but now i think the machine is just shutting it down to deal with tis other problem

i go pretty slow, i am fine with unplugging some sort of speed sensor or the speedo to get this problem to go away during hunting season.

any help or suggestions out there for an easy fix?

thanks

Pay close attention to the speedo while moving and see if its jumping around any. It could be a problem with the speed sensor giving a bad signal or having a bad connection.

yes, i was hopiong the harness into the speed sensor just needed cleaning but it looks fine so i am going to buy a new speed sensor.

i have noticed that as soon as the engine light/eps light come on, the speedo stops working. i thought it was just shutting down the speedo like it shuts down the power steering.

but i have to go hunting this weekend and will probly have to order online. dang. the local polaris place doesn't seem to stock anything anymore.

everything i have read said that the speed sensor if it doesn't work, your rig won't even run but mine runs fine with the speedo not working and the error lights on.

well, put in a new speed sensor and seemed to fix that problem but now another code is popping up. i was trying really hard to get the old code to pop up but it wouldn't, so i went a little bit faster in low gear than i ever have and this code popped up. was probably going 22 mph on speedo.

102 3

which says manifold absollute pressure sensor high voltage

i wonder if it is just a random thing and as long as i go slow nothing will happen
