Just curious i finally put a few miles on my wheeler this weekend, is it common for there to be kind of a whining noise coming from somewhere in the rear? especially when letting off the gas, kind of annoying if this is normal:susel:
yes but check the oil level in rear diff, mine was kinda loud when I first got it, stopped and checked all fluid levels and ther was very little in the rear diff, changed oil and over filled it a little with synthetic 80-90, quieted down aloot, probably saved rear diff too
Mobile 1 75w/90 synthetic or also known as GL5 gear lube at any auto parts store. 1 quart will give you 3-4 changes. Drain from the bottom and fill from the upper. It really helps to go ahead and get an marine outdrive pump. Also available at any autoparts store for about $10. You'll need this pump to put the front diff and transmission fluids in also.
